Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 1/2 lbs. ground veal
- 1 carrot, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 bay leaf
- salt and pepper to taste
- splash of white wine
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
- dash of basil
- 1 lb. campanelle pasta
- fresh parmesan cheese (topping)
Instructions
- Heat oil in large skillet. Add veal, brown for 2-3 minutes.
- Add carrot, onion, and bay leaf.
- Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 4-5 minutes.
- Add wine, cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Add broth to skillet, reduce to low.
- Stir in tomatoes and bring to a bubble.
- Add basil, remove bay leaf.
- Cook pasta.
- Toss hot, drained pasta with 1/2 cup cheese.
- Pour sauce over pasta.
